SEGAL APPOINTED INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Board of Trustees of the Bibliographical Center for Research announces the
appointment of Dr. JoAn S. Segal as Interim Executive Director of BCR. On September
11, 1980, the Board of Trustees determined that no permanent appointment to the
position of BCR Executive Director be made at this time.
Dr. Segal joined the BCR staff in October, 1978, as Manager of the Resource
Sharing Program; became Director of the Resource Sharing Division in July, 1979; and
was appointed Acting Executive Director in June, 1980. She received the Ph.D.
degree in Communication from the University of Colorado in 1978. Her M.S. in L.S.
is from Columbia University, and she is a graduate of Douglass College, Rutgers
University. Her professional library experience has included work in special,
academic, and government libraries. She has also been consultant to the National
Center for Higher Education Management Systems in adult and continuing education.
Dr. Segal has published in the fields of adult and continuing education, group
development in theater casts, library development, and needs assessment. She is
active in SLA, and is a member of ALA, CLA, MPLA, and SCA (Speech Communication
