STATE LIBRARY Cor1~11
The State Library Commiss~~~~-Iowa,
created in 1973, includes three
divisions, the Law Library, the Medical
Library, and the State Library,
formerly the Iowa State Traveling
Library. The State Librarian is appointed
by a commission consisting
of the Supreme Court Admiriistrator,
one member of the medical profes-sion,
and three members selected at
large, appointed by the governor.

The Iowa State Law Library provides
legal reference facilities for
the supreme court judges, the office
of the attorney general, and the state
other governmental agencies, the legal
legislature; however, it also serves
profession, and all the people of Iowa.
The Iowa State Medical Library, another diVision of the State Library
Commission, has an extensive collection of medical history. It provide"
current medical information to physicians, nurses, other health personnel,
medical students, attorneys, libraries, and all Iowa residents.
