A wine and cheese part~ sponsored by the Pennsylvania Library
Association and the Pittsburgh Regional Library Center will be held
on Thursday, May 15, from 4-6 P.M. in their new quarters at Beatty
Hall on the Chatham College Campus. Some of the directors of PRLC
member libraries will serve as hosts; the students and faculty of
the Graduate School of Library and Information Sciences of the
University of Pittsburgh will be the invited guests.
) INFORMAL EXPLORATORY DISCUSSION
PRLC's Executive Council and Director met informally with Mr. Ernest
Doerschuk, State Librarian, and Mrs. Patricia Broderick, Director of
Library Development. The discussion centered around the present state
of cooperative efforts among the libraries in Pennsylvania, possible
directions which interlibrary cooperation may follow and funding for
such future programs.
The contract for additional OCLC funding for the 11 District Center
Libraries was signed by PRLC officials on April 21 and forwarded to
the State. The period of funding extends from July 1 to December 31, 1975.
Quarterly reports for the microfilming contract and the existing OCLC
funding contract with the State were also submitted in April.
The next PRLC Board of Trustees meeting will be held on Friday afternoon,
May 16, at Robert Morris College - Moon Township Campus. Formal
announcements with th.e agenda, directional maps, and background iollfor-
