MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUS'T'EES:, The next regular me.etingo'f ,the
Board of Trustees will' be held on Friday" February 25" 1972, at 2: 00
P. TIL in Conferenc~ Hoom 272 of the Hillman Library at the Uni versi ty
of Pittsburgh.
Dr. John A. McCrossan, Coordinator of Interlibrary Cooperation
for the State Library of Pennsylvania, is expected to attend th",
meeting to discuss the grant contract. for production of the second
edi tion of the Pi t'csburgl1 Regional union List of Periodicals.
OHIO COLLEGE LIBRARY CENTER SERVICES: In connection with hi(l study
of cataloging procedures now bei~g,.used and the feasibility of ffiaMing
OCLC services more readily availc.ble to member libraries not 'present­ly
using them, Mr~ John ,canter of the Po;Lnt Park College Computer
Genter visited several pit1:sburgh member libraries during.,.the Wf,lek
of February 6 to gather information and.assess the degree of interest
~lr. Frederick Kilgour, Director of the Ohio Center, has been
invited to attend the Board cif Directors' meeting to discuss capabil­ities
of present and planned OCLC computerized library systems.
MICROGRAPHIC CATALOG RETRIEVAL SYSTEM (MCRS):' A late-model 3])I Com­pany
reader-printer obtained on a rental basis is now being 'used in
the ~1CRS Unit at Hillman Libra~y. The3U reader-printer purchased
by the Center in la'te 1970 (a ~,lodel 400F for microfiche) is now
available for sale. Anyone intexc,;l:ed in buying it may call or write
the PRLC Headqtlazt,ers Office for details. .
PRLe CONiJERENCE: The subcommittee on the Non-Print Conference is
completi(lg its plans for the' all-day conference to be held at Point
Park College on Tuesday, r4arch 14. Invitations to academic, public
and special libraries in the area will be mailed early in the week
of February 13. T,he Subcorrmittee has set a deadline of March 8. for
reservations.
UNDERGRADUATE INTERLIBRARY BORRGriING PROGRAM: A supply of the ne\"
three-part Borrowing Privilege forms is, available at Centernead­quarters.
(The third copy is to be returned _to the .borrower's
library to facilitate ~ecord-keeping.) will those members who have
not already received the new forms a~lvise, 'the Center 'office of the
number they need. , .
Also, a reminder to those \"ho have not yet returned. tjm com­pleted
report form on operation of the program from July to Deca~er
1971, to please send it so that the second six months' experience
-may be evaluated.
