BOARD MEETS IN
TIFFIN-SENECA PUBLIC LIBRARY
The opportunity to see and hear first-hand reports on State Library
assisted programs was the highlight of the State Library Board meeting
held at the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library in Tiffin May 10.
Mr. Patrick Bell, President of the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library
Board, welcomed the State Library Board to Tiffin, and invited the Board
to inspect the facilities and services of the Library.
Miss .Helen Blood, Librarian, Tiffin-Seneca Public Library, explained
the service of the Library as a preface to the Board's tour. A $211,107
Library Service and Construction Act (LSCA) Title II grant helped the
construction of the Library, which was dedicated in 1976. Miss Blood also
reviewed the services of the Northwestern Library District (NORWELD) multicounty
cooperative for the Board (see box p. 74).
Mr. Joseph F. Shubert, State Librarian, reported to the Board on the
work of the Ohio Multitype Interlibrary Cooperation Committee (OMICC),
several "sunset" bills pending before the General Assembly, and recommendations
for revision of The Ohio Long Range Program.
Mr. A. Chapman Parsons, Executive Director, OLA/OLTA reviewed bills
pending in the ll2th General Assembly relating to libraries. Mr. Ira
Phillips, Assistant State Librarian for Library Development, reported on
