December 16 meeting awarded LSCA Title I
grants to the following regional systems
"to provide equal access to library services
and materials for all individuals
through the building of strong multitype
regional cooperation:

In addition the Board also awarded
the Area Library Service Organization
(ALSO) $283,435 in LSCA Title I funds and
$345,819 in state funds. The moneys will
be used also to assure equal access to
library services and matertals for area
::.itizens.
The Girard Free Library will receive
t7,44l In LSCA Title I funds to purchase
me TRS 80 III microcomputer and provide
iOO adults and children with hands- on
!xperience.
~ The Milton-Union Public Library will
::ece!ve $3,500 in Title I funds to provide
,00 students and adults in microcomputer
:ompetency.
The program is to serve the needs of
MOLO (Mideastern Ohio Library Organization),
NOLA (Nola Regio~al Library
System), SWORL (Southwestern Ohio Rural
Ubraries) , NCLC (North Central Library
Cooperative), NORWELD (Northwest Libr ary
District), WORLDS (Western Ohio Regional
Library Development System) , and MVL
(Miami Valley Libraries) Regional Library
Systems .
/ Bookmobile Rate Will Rise
There will be an increase In the
hourly rate for State Library bookmobile
service of $5.00 per service hour. The
Board accepted the increase because state
and federal moneys requested through the
Office of Budget and Management guidelines
will not allow the library to even maintain
current service levels in the field
units. The increase will be implemented
as follows:
$3.00 increase for school contracts
effective September I, 1983
$3.00 increase for public library
contracts effective January I, 1984
$2.00 increase for school
tracts effective September I,
