The topic of the November 15 issue of the "Washington Newsletter" published
by the American Library Association is the new copyright law. Attached to
this issue of Bits and Tidbits is the Table of Contents of that issue of the
Washi~gton Newsletter and an order form. Since this document has relevance
to all libraries you may need to order one if you have not already received it.
Notice the December 10 deadline on ordering.
Available from the Biblioteca Nacional de Mexico, Apartado Postal 29-124,
Mexico 1, D.F. is the Spanish translation of revised Chapter 6 of the AngloAmerican
Cataloging Rules, which has been published as No.3 of the Series
Instrumenta Bibliographica. The cost is $2 (U.S.).
3. The Corporate Committee on Response Time at OCLC has deferred deciding
whether or not to make the author index available during peak hours of
system activity. This decision will be based upon what the committee finds in
its study of performance of the triple processor system.
4. A ttached is the announcement of validation and explanation of three new
fields relating to U.S. Documents. Item number 2 of AMIGOS TECHNICAL
MEMORANDUM T76-12 asked for libraries desiring SuDoc number printing
directly from the 086 to notify this office so the change could be instituted.
Several libraries responded; if your library wants this option please inform us
in writing.
