1. All 690 and 691 tags will remain on records input into the data base and will
be printed on cards unless deleted.
2. At present ISSN numbers appearing in subfield "X" of a 400-440 tag will print
as part of the series heading. This is an error in the OCLC print program
and will be corrected. Until this error is corrected a library can change the
tag of a series in an existing record which contains an ISSN in subfield "x"
to 490 1 and trace the series (without the ISSN) in an 8xx tag. Thus, the
ISSN would print in the series note but not as part of the heading.An
alternate method to prevent the ISSN from printing in headings would be to .
delete the ISSN from the 400-440 tags. However, the ISSN would also not
print as part of the series statement. Cataloging records being added to the
data base should not be input using either of these methods but rather should
be input correctly using the UPDATE/SEND command and then changed as
described above for catalog card production.
3. Whenever a new holding library is added to an existing profile the library
should test each holding library added before going into full card production
even if the holding library will not be used immediately. Neither OCLe nor
AMIGOS can be held responsible for profile changes or additions which are
not tested upon notification of completion.
