Vol. 9, No.3 MAY 141979 /:lay, 1979
from the desk of ...
Hannah McCauley, President, OlA
last year I wondered why the OlA president,
Charlotte leonard, chose to attend
all six of OlA's regional meetings. After
all, that seemed to be a lot of Fridays
to commit, and surely the members would
understand if she could not make all of
them. Now that I have wa lked in her moccasins,
I understand.
It has nothing to do with Spring being
a nice time to get out of the office on
Fridays and travel the highways and byways
of Ohio to see the earth blossoming.
)
It really is to see the Association blossom
ing, to meet the membership, and share
in the fine programs, many by our own
members.
It has been a great experience. Clyde
Scoles and the seven regional chairpersons
- Ann Walker/ larry Black (C), Barbara
Bruno (SW) , Steven Hawk (NE-II),
Palo] ine Demaree (NE-I), Jul ie Steinbrenner
(NW) , Judy Young (SE) are to be commended
for the fine job they did. The Divisions
deserve credit, too, for the active role
they played in the regionals.
On the 1979 Activity Memorandum,
counted eighteen task forces at work,
seven workshops coming up, and numerous
surveys, bibliographies and BUllETIN articles.
Not only is the earth stirring,
but so is OlA.
One closing word. A democratic associ ation
provides the oppo rtunity for the
membersi,to vote for its leadership . A responsible
member takes that opportunity :> and votes. look for the ballot shortly
, after May 15 and please vote. Thanks.
