12, 1978 , 8:00 p.m. must, be sub­mitted
to the Resolutions Committee

2. Resolutions in legible form may be
submitted to the Resolutions Commit­tee
prior to 8:00 p.m. Thursday,
October 12, 1978 to be acted upon
during the annual business meeting

The Resolutions Committee consists of
Jane McGregor, Past President and Chair,
Barbara Clark, Chair, Organization Committee
and one member appointed by the president.
NEW STATE LlBRAR1AN NAMED
Richard M. Cheski, Director , Oceanside,
New York Public Library, has been named di­rector
of the State Library of Ohio . Mr.
Cheski will assume the position September 1,
1978.
Cheski was formerly assistant state li­farian
for development from 1970-74 and
_~ate librarian for . Colorado .

'PSYCHOLOGIST EXTRAORD1NA1RE' TO SPEAK
DURING OLA CONFERENCE IN CLEVELAND
Dr. Joyce Brothers.,"psychologist extraor­dinaire"
has been selected to be banquet
speaker for the annual OLA/OLTA conference to
be held at Stouffers Inn-on-the-Square, Cle v~­land,
October 12-14 .
Dr. Brothers earned a Ph.D. from Columbia
University. She attributes her success large­ly
to a genuine empathy with her audience and
an ability to dispense sound advice in simple
language unencumbered by professional jargon.
There is a wealth of thought behind the seem­ingly
simple adv ice Joyce Brothers dispenses
in her columns or broadcasts, "I attempt to
give people information which will be of some
service to them in everyday living."
Dr . Brothers has authored two books, Ten
Days ~~ Successful Memory, a resource man­ual
for rembering peoples' names and faces .
